My name is Gail Nettles, and my husband's name is David.  Together, we produce this site, Great Florida Vacations.

I'm the writer, and David does a fair amount of the photography.  He also comes up with ideas when I am about out of them!  It's a good combination, wouldn't you say?

Both of us are Florida natives.  David was born in St. Augustine, up in North Florida.  And I will have to confess, I wasn't exactly born in Florida, but I moved here before I was 2 years old, and have never lived anywhere else since.  Seeing that's more than, ahem, 40 years, all the real natives I've talked to said I qualify.  :)

I'm in my 40's and David is in his 50's.  We've both seen a lot of changes over the years, some of it absolutely amazing, some of it a little disheartening, if you like the great outdoors.  But it's all Florida and we love it.

Right now we live in SE Florida, but we'll be changing to N Florida, the Gulf Coast and our dream home sometime in the relatively near future.  And this website is part of the reason.

About This Site

I've built quite a few websites over the years, some more successful than others.  I've had online businesses, and also sites just for the fun of it.  When I came up with the idea for Great Florida Vacations, I wanted to do something different...so I did!  You can read about how this site evolved. I think it's an amazing story, but you'll have to judge for yourself.
