"A Destin Florida beach front hotel is the best way to spend a vacation -- the Destin beach is gorgeous!"
Picking just the right Destin, Florida hotel can be confusing sometimes; there are a whole lot of choices.
Of course, it's more good than bad -- plenty of hotels means plenty of different types. Whether you like a fancy resort, are traveling on a budget, or somewhere in between, there is a Destin, Florida hotel that is right for you.
Destin is a pretty small city, so everything is fairly close together. You can choose a hotel on the Gulf of Mexico, or one that faces the bay.
You can find one that arranges for trips and tours for you, or you can do it yourself. Pick a hotel with a restaurant and room service, or one close to the neighborhood fast-food.
Now keep in mind that in February and March, Destin is a Spring Break spot. Its beautiful beaches are the big draw, so expect the beachside hotels to be booked. And very busy (i.e. don't count on quiet solitude).

Destin Florida Beach Hotels Overview
Fortunately, Destin Florida beach hotels are relatively inexpensive -- you can generally find a nice place for under $120 a night. And many are less than $100 a night. Of course, there are the more expensive places as well -- so it's your decision as to what's the most important. Personally, I like staying at the under $100/night places, because it leave me more money to spend on other things, like fishing charters, attractions and (of course) shopping.
If you are looking for really cheap hotels in Destin, Florida, you're going to have to do some investigating; Destin is popular and hotels under $70 a night can be hard to come by.
So, all that being said, here are a few Destin Florida hotel options.
Hampton Inn Destin, 1625 Hwy. 98 East: Part of the Hampton chain, this hotel in Destin is clean and comfortable. The lovely public beach is 200 yards from the hotel, and on site there is a pool, hot tub and fitness room. Hampton Inn provides a complimentary continental breakfast in the morning. Holiday Inn Destin on the Beach, 1020 Hwy. 98 East: Now I am not usually a big fan of Holiday Inn, but next time I am in Destin, I want to try this one! It's pretty tall, with 9 stories (think of those gorgeous beach views), and it encloses a 4-story holidrome. Plenty of amenities -- pools, tennis court, sauna, exercise room and wireless interment. But the real reason to stay here is the beautiful Gulf of Mexico beach. There's a restaurant on the property, too. Check rates for Holiday Inn Destin on the Beach
Resorts of Pelican Beach, 1002 Hwy 98 East,: Pelican Beach Resort in Destin is on Highway 98 -- which means it's close to the beach, but not really on it. The nice part about this resort is that it has 2-bedroom condominimum apartments for a vacation rental! With over 1,000 square feet, you have room to spread out. Of course, the down side is that there end up being more guests. Still, if you are looking for a condo rental in Destin, Florida, you might want to take a look. Suburban Extended Stay, 4615 Opa Locka Lane: Suburban Extended Stay in Destin is fairly inexpensive, and by all accounts a good value for your money. There is a swimming pool on site, and something else you can use for an extended stay -- laundry facilities. The rooms are good-sized and comfortable, and pets are welcome in certain rooms. However, if you came to Destin for the beach, this hotel is not near them -- you'll have to do some driving. Check availability for Suburban Extended Stay
Village Inn of Destin, 215 US Hwy. 98 East: If you came to Destin to do a little fishing, do think about the Village Inn. It's near to the charter boats, which is helpful for those early-morning starts. Rooms are kind of basic, but clean and comfortable. Pets are welcome, but not in all rooms. Village Inn is within walking distance of the fishing pier, as well. The price is exceedingly good, so if you don't need a fancy hotel, the Village Inn may just be what you're looking for. Wingate Inn Destin, 117 Palm Street: A comfortable place to stay, and a good value. Standard amenities include pool, hot tub, fitness room and a separate spa facility. The Wingate Inn isn't right on the beach, but rather across the street. It's also located near the Big Kahuna waterpark.
