Disney All Star Music Resort

The Disney All Star Music resort is one of the extremely popular Disney Value resorts.  The Music resort, along with the Pop Century, Movie and Sports resorts, are the lowest priced of all the Walt Disney World resorts. A very good thing, for a traveller in search of a bargain!

Disney is the master of themes, and they've done up this resort nicely. Even with the least expensive category of Disney resorts, you're still wrapped up in the Disney magic. It's what transforms what could be just ordinary rooms to a complete Disney experience!

If you love music, come on down and stay here at the All Star Music resort.  There are different buildings that are based on different themes.  In no particular order they are: jazz, calypso, broadway, rock-n-roll and of course, country. One or more of them is sure to please any music lover.

This resort is located in the Animal Kingdom area of the Disney World complex. Naturally, there is complimentary bus transportation to the other resorts and the theme parks.

As with all Disney World resorts these days, this is a smoke-free hotel.  What does that mean?  No smoking is allowed in the rooms, but only in designated outdoor locations.  Fair warning:  Disney is serious about this -- you can and will get fined if you smoke in your room.

Your Stay at the All Star Music Resort

The All Star Music resort is pretty large, with 1,920 guest rooms.  All rooms have a maximum occupancy of 4 people, and yes, there are family suites in the All Star Music resort!

Note: The family suites are in high demand year-round, so if you need one, book well ahead of time. It also helps to be flexible with your dates.

Given that the resort is large and spread-out, you have a choice of either paying a bit more to be closer to the guest services (like the pool, food and transportation) or paying the lowest rate for a more outlying location.  It's up to you, but keep in mind that there will be a lot of walking, either way.

The beds in the rooms at the Disney All Star Music resort have either two double beds or one king bed.  However, the king beds are limited to first-come first-served.  The rooms are brightly colored and follow the theme of the building in which they are located.  The rooms are roughly 260 square feet in size.

One more thing to know -- the All Star Disney resorts have an extra bed tax with the stay -- about 1.5% more than the Pop Century.  Keep that in mind when you are comparing rates.

Food and Restaurants

For dining at the Disney All Star Music resort, you can go down to the Intermission Food Court.  It's kind of like what you'd see in a mall -- quite a few different kinds of foods, and a main seating area.  You can find just about anything here -- pasta, burgers, salads, sandwiches and more.

If you want to treat yourself at some point to a table-service meal, you can either visit a restaurant in one of the theme parks, or you can do what I do...

...hop on one of the Disney buses and visit one of the other resorts for your meal!  (Do make reservations ahead of time, though, especially in the busy seasons.) Also allow ample time to get to your destination resort; buses travel frequently, but they also make quite a few stops along the way.

Activities Available

One of the neat things at the Disney All Star Music resort is a humongous pool!  It really is huge, and it's in the shape of a piano!  Yes, even the pools are themed.

There is also a second, smaller one called the Guitar Pool.  And finally, there is a kiddie pool for the younger set.

For the young ones, there is a playground located between the Jazz and Calypso areas.  The All Star Music resort also has an arcade, for kids of all ages!

Anything Else?

On the more pragmatic arena, there are laundry facilities, high-speed interned access (available for an extra fee) and a rather large gift shop.  If you missed getting goodies in the parks, you can do your shopping here!.

I'll mention it again -- the Disney Value resorts are all extremely popular, so your best bet on getting a decent rate is to book your room well in advance. How far? Three or four months isn't too far out, and if you plan to visit arounf Christmas, make that at least six months.

Have a great stay at the Disney All Star Music resort!
