Disney Boardwalk Hotel and Villas
The Disney Boardwalk hotel and villas is a medium-sized resort complex. There are 532 units, so there is more hustle and bustle that you would find at the Beach Club. As far as atmosphere, think of Disney's Boardwalk as a classy Coney Island - full of fun and magic.
Boardwalk is a combination of several things. First, it's a Vacation Club timeshare. Next, it's also a Disney resort hotel. Finally, it's a rollicking good time, walking along the actual boardwalk area!
The transportation to the theme parks and other Disney locations is via bus. However, there is also a boat ride to EPCOT, Disney Hollywood Studios and the Yacht Club.
On-site facilities include several restaurants - a snack stand, two casual restaurants, a specialty and a finally a signature restaurant.
The snack stand is called "Boardwalk Bakery" and serves fresh baked goods and sweets (yum). The casual restaurants are "ESPN Club" and "Big RIver Grille & Brewing Works". Think of a sports bar for ESPN Club and a specialty brewery for Big River Grille.
The other restaurants are "Spoodles", a family-style restaurant featuring both American and Mediterranean foods. And finally the "Flying Fish Cafe", a rather pricey seafood restaurant.
The Boardwalk Villas has several pools, and the theme pool is called Luna park and features a 200-foot waterslide. Naturally, there are also quiet pools for those interested in some serious relaxation.
Activities at the Disney Boardwalk Hotel
This is a fun place to stay, and there is plenty to see and do. How about:
The studios at Disney's Boardwalk Villas resort are roughly 360 square feet, and have either two double beds or a double bed and a sleeper sofa. Occupancy is up from four to 12 people per villa, depending on the size.
The one, two and three bedroom villas include a full-size washer and dryer (talk about convenient!). High-speed internet access is available for an extra fee.
