Disney Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa

The Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa is the largest of the Vacation Club villas complexes. Picture a Victorian Saratoga Springs from upstate New York dropped into Disney. The combination isn't as incongrous as it first sounds!

This is the newest of the Walt Disney World Vacation Club resorts. Located in the Downtown Disney area, it combines the gentle ambiance of a northern waterside resort with the excitement and magic of Disney.

The transportation from Saratoga Springs villas to the theme parks, resorts and other Disney locations is via bus. However, you can either walk to or take a complimentary boat ride to Downtown Disney (you're that close).

On-site facilities include two restaurants, both of which serve lunch and dinner. In addition, one ("The Artist's Pallete") serves breakfast as well.

"The Artist's Palette" serves sit-down or take-out food, in a very casual atmosphere. American fare -- sandwiches, salads, pizza, etc. (ok, pizza is really Italian, but you know what I mean).

The "Turf Club Bar and Grill" also has American fare, but with a bit more excitement -- the spiced salmon salad sounds quite intiguing. Steaks, sandwiches, salads and such round out the foods available. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor dining, the outdoor overlooking golfing greens and waterways.

The Saratoga Springs Disney Resort and Spa has several pools, and the themed one is called "High Rock Springs". There are also quiet pools and some spas available though.

There are 840 units, which is farily large for a Disney vacation club resort. In the busy season, that might mean a bit of a wait for transportation to the parks.

Activities at the Disney Saratoga Springs Resort

Occupancy is up from four to eight people per villa, depending on the size. The one and two bedroom villas include a full-size washer and dryer (talk about convenient!). The one and two bedroom villas include a full-size kitchen, which has everything you need (except food -- that you have to supply).
