Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park Photo Gallery
Thanks for visiting the Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park gallery! I've selected the best pictures from my recent trip for your viewing pleasure.
I'm only putting 2 or 3 pictures per page, so that people who connect through dial-up don't have to wait forever to see the pictures. But I have several pages of pictures to share with you.
Although photos can't capture the fun of my trip to Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park, they are a doorway to the imagination.
So come on along, and let's start the adventure!
Pepper Creek Waterway
Pepper Creek is the waterway you ride down, if you take the boat tour between the east and west entrances to Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park.
Pepper Creek is only about a mile long, but it's a natural Florida spring creek. The water is clear and cold.
Breakfast, Anyone?
I can just imagine what is on this bird's mind - catching breakfast! He was kind enough to pose for the camera, although I think he was more intent on ignoring me as much as possible.
I moved on before he found something to munch, but I still wonder what he managed to catch.
Bumpity-Bump
These white pelicans were hanging out in the lagoon area inside the park. Now living in South Florida, I see lots of pelicans. However, I've never seen white ones.
I was intrigued by the "bump" on their beaks, as the local brown pelicans don't have them.
