Radisson Suite Hotel Oceanfront

Prior to a cruise which left from Port Canaveral, we spent 3 nights at the Radission Oceanfront Suites in Melbourne, Florida (August 23, 2007 - August 26, 2007).

The hotel is gorgeous and entirely renovated after suffering hurricane damage several years ago. Our stay was very peaceful and uncrowded; there were times when we had the pool/jacuzzi and multi-level decking all to ourselves, or shared it with just one or two other families. Now that was nice!

We ordered the poolside lunch one day, and it was excellent!

Although we loved the hotel itself, and we highly recommend it, we are not likely to choose it again ourselves because the ocean was too rough for swimming -- instead, it was more suitable for surfers. Not a bad thing at all -- we were just hoping for a calmer ocean for the family!

Be aware that the location is a mostly residential area, so there isn't much to see or do nearby.

However, there is a Walmart is located across the street, where we were able to purchase snacks and beverages to stock our suite's kitchen. Friendly's (which has a wonderful weekday breakfast special) and a few other inexpensive family-style restaurants are conveniently located across the street too.
