...that not every beach is right for every person (or time of year). Perhaps Siesta Beach has gotten so popular that it's moved away from being "quiet"?
But it's great to hear different points of view, don't you agree?

Siesta Key - Overrated by: Anonymous
We visited Siesta Key 11/11/08 - 11/14/08. (considered the off-season)
The beach was way too crowded. We weren't even on the public beach, (we stayed at a private condo on Crescent Beach, about a 3/4 mile walk down the beach from the public beach), but we might as well have been on the public beach.
The sand was cool to walk on since it's 99% quartz, but it's packed rock hard. It's like walking and laying on concrete. Bring a mallet if you want to use a beach umbrella.
The condo we rented was fabulous though. We were on the 7th floor with a direct beachfront view. The view of the gulf was remarkable. The condo was the best part of our visit. The beach was just so-so. We probably won't visit again.

Hey, did you know that Siesta Key Beach was named the "best beach in Florida" by Florida Trend magazine? Wow!
Based on that, I guess it just got "discovered"! ;)
